At an official meeting of Simpson M. E. church, held on Monday night, Dec. 15, 1884, the members of the official board and many friends unanimously adopted the following;
WHEREAS, We have learned with great sadness of heart of the very sudden and unexpected death of our beloved friend and co-laborer's wife, Rev. R. A. Carnine, a former pastor of this charge, which occurred on the 9th inst., and
WHEREAS, We do not desire to overlook or forget the services of any of our former pastors, but ever to bear them in grateful remembrance for their works' sake; yet because that in addition to the usual duties of pastor Bro. Carnine, with most heroic courage and great wisdom, let us to the liquidations of a most grievous and burdensome church debt, thus in a ten-fold degree endearing himself to our people, and
WHEREAS, His most excellent companion did, with saintly devotion, render all that was in her power to aid him in the work of the Master, discharging life's duties with fidelity, meeting its difficulties and privations with fortitude, and bearing its trials with patience and meekness worthy of a true Christian woman; therefore,
Resolved, That we most deeply sympathise with our beloved Bro. Carnine in this sore affliction and bereavement, which has so suddenly fallen upon him and his little ones.
Resolved, That a copy of the actions of this meeting be entered upon the church record, and that they be published in our county papers and a copy hereof be sent to Bro. Carnine.

Miami, April 27. (AP)—Funeral services will be held Friday for Rev. R. A. Carnine, 82, retired minister of the Methodist Episcopal church, who died here Monday.
He was former district superintendent of the St. Johns conference of the church, and formerly was pastor of the First Avenue Methodist Episcopal church in St. Petersburg. He spent many years on the lecture platform.
Services will be in charge of Rev. D. H. Rutter of St. Petersburg, lifelong friend.
