RICHARD LLOYD BOUILLON, LT. COL., RET., U.S.A.F., 80, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Bethlehem Woods Nursing Home. Born Feb. 9, 1924, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Lloyd and Edith (Reid) Bouillon. He graduated from North Side High School, in 1942, joined the Army Air Corps the same year and trained as a pilot. He had just finished his training to fly the B-17 when World War II ended. He remained in the Air Force Reserve, graduated from Indiana University with a Business Degree, then was recalled for the Korean War, spending one and one-half years in Korea. He remained on active duty in the U.S.A.F. and spent three years teaching ROTC at Bowling Green State University, then flew the KC-135 tanker refueling plane during the Cuban crisis and the Cold War and spent six months in Taiwan during the Vietnam War. After 28 years of service, he retired January of 1970, at Grissom A.F.B. and returned to Fort Wayne. His hobby was building and flying radio-controlled gliders and airplanes and he belonged to the Flying Circuits R/C Club. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter 1. He is survived by his wife, Alice Bouillon; daughters, Andrea (Edward) Eldred of Lowell and Anne (James) Vought of Fort Wayne; sons, Lee (Melanie) Bouillon of Fort Wayne, Phillip (Debra) Bouillon of Roanoke and Jeffrey Bouillon of Hammond; and eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian and Michael Vought, Andrew Eldred, Noah and Colin Bouillon and Erin and Ryan Bouillon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriett (Weber) Bouillon, in 1961. Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with Korean War Veterans Association service at 6 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
