Miss Sara Anna Bechtel Is Post-Holiday Bride

School Teacher Weds Mr. Carl W. Boyer, York, at Ceremony in Lutheran Church of the Transfiguration; Couple to Reside in Burnham, Mifflin County

Charming was the wedding yesterday afternoon in the Lutheran Church of the Transfiguration when Miss Sara Anna Bechtel, daughter of Mr. F. C. Bechtel, 267 North York street, became the post-holiday bride of Mr. Carl W. Boyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Boyer, 20 North West street, York.

The ceremony was performed at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Richard C. Klick, pastor. Preceding the ceremony a recital in keeping with the bridal theme was presented by Mr. Charles J. Custer, organist.

Vases of cut flowers, chrysanthemums and poinsettias, silhouetted against a background of pine boughs and candles formed a picturesque setting for the affair.

The bride, who came down the aisle on the arm of her father, made a charming picture in her bridal gown of white velvet featuring a tight bodice with heart shaped neckline and long pointed leg of mutton sleeves. Her skirt was full with a long train. Around her neck she wore a white velvet ribbon choker with a pearl brooch. Her long tulle veil was pleated and caught at the head with orange blossoms. She carried a bridal bouquet of calla lilies and carnations.

Mrs. Frank Megavero, matron of honor and sister of the bride, was lovely in a silver lame gown boasting a pale blue background. It had a tight bodice, short puffed sleeves and a gored skirt. She wore a plum-colored watteau hat trimmed with contrasting plumes and carried a muff of yellow chrysanthemums. She, too, wore a blue velvet choker with a matching brooch.

The bridesmaids, Mrs. Harry Geyer, Ephrata; Miss Phyllis Andrews, Springfield; Miss Harriet Clayton, Chester, and Mrs. Donald Fegley, Pottstown wore teal blue taffeta dresses featuring a heart-shaped necklines, short puffed sleeves and hoop skirts. Small novel burgundy hats made in shapes of bunches of grapes trimmed with teal blue velvet ribbons comprised their hats. They carried fans of poinsettias and tulle tied with silver cords.

Mr. Philip Boyer, Washington, D. C., served his brother as best man and ushers were Mr. George McGinness, Columbia; Mr. Robert Farwood, Prospect Park; Mrs. George Fry, New Cumberland, and Mr. William Burgard, York.

Mrs. Boyer, mother of the groom, was attractive in a teal blue dress with which she wore black accessories and a corsage of gardenias.

Following a reception in the Dutch Grille, the newlyweds left on a short honeymoon trip and upon their return will reside in their newly-furnished apartment in Burnham, Mifflin county, where they both are employed as school teachers.

For traveling Mrs. Boyer chose a teal blue ensemble with which she wore burgundy accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.
