Boyer—Detrich

Philip H. Boyer, Pottstown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Boyer, York, and Helen M. Detrich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Detrich, Chambersburg, were married last Thursday morning at the parsonage of the First United Brethren church, Chambersburg. The ceremony was performed by the bride's pastor, the Rev. J. Stewart Glen. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Norman S. Miller, Chambersburg. The bride was attired in white and carried white rosebuds and gypsophila. Mrs. Miller wore pink and carried pink rosebuds and delphinium.

The bride is a graduate of the Chambersburg High school, class of 1928, and is employed at the office of T. B. Wood's Sons company. The bridegroom, who was formerly employed at the Chambersburg Gibbs People's Service store, is manager of the Gibbs People's Service store in Pottstown. After a wedding tour of the New England states, Mrs. Boyer will resume her work in Chambersburg for some time before going to Pottstown to reside.

Philip H. Boyer

Philip H. Boyer, 65, husband of Helen Detrich Boyer, 569 Nelson St., Chambersburg, died suddenly at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. He was born in York a son of Laura K. Hoke Boyer, 20 N. West St., and the late Wilson Boyer.

Mr. Boyer was a member of Elks Lodge 600; Detrich-Brechbill American Legion Post, St. Thomas, Pa., and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a wholesale drug salesman for Tri-State Drug Co. for 25 years prior to his retirement last summer.

The Rev. Robert E. Reasey will officiate at funeral services Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

Helen D. Boyer, 78, of 569 Nelson St., died at 3:41 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 1990, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 11, 1911, in Hamilton Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Gilbert Detrich.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary.

Mr. Boyer was formerly employed at the former Leiter Brothers store on South Main Street.

Her husband, Philip H. Boyer, died Feb. 16, 1972.

Surviving is a brother, George E. Detrich of 541 Nelson St.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas C. Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
