Mrs. H. M. McIlhany, of this city, was in Roanoke Wednesday evening to attend the wedding of her nephew Dr. W. W. S. Butler Jr., to Miss Sarah Poage Caldwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Caldwell, of that city, which was celebrated in the Second Presbyterian church Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock. The Rev. Arthur Rowbotham performed the ceremony.
After an extended bridal tour, Dr. and Mrs. Butler will be at home in Roanoke.
Miss Caldwell is one of the most popular and interesting girls of Roanoke's youngest set and Dr. Butler is a young physician of brilliancy and promise in his profession and of loving personality in his private life.

Ormand Butler, formerly assistant supervisor of the Ohio extension of the Norfold and Western Railroad, is visiting his brother, Dr. W. S. Butler, and will leave to-day for Cincinnati to accept a position in the office of the division engineer of the United States Survey.

ROANOKE, Nov. 30.—(AP)—Dr. William Wilson Samuel Butler, a physician in Roanoke for more than half a century, died Friday at his home here. He was 77.
Born in Roanoke Oct. 21, 1885, Dr. Butler was a graduate of the University of Virginia. He also received his medical degree there in 1909.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Caldwell Butler, two sons, Dr. W. W. S. Butler III and Del. M. Caldwell Butler, both of Roanoke; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church with burial in Evergreen.
