Our friends, J. M. Warren, and W. W. Butler, Jr., who have been in attendance at the University of Maryland taking a course of medicine during the past session, returned home last week, and were hearily welcomed, by their numerous friends. They will return when the session begin in the fall, and will "achieve" their "sheep skin," and by this time next year will be prepared to dispence physic to our citizens in the most modern and skillful style.

Our young friend. Dr. W. W. S. Butler, jr., having been tendered the position of physician and surgeon at the Shenandoah Iron Works in Page county, left on Saturday last to enter upon the discharge of his duties.—Dr. Butler is a most promising disciple of Esculapius, and the position could not have been given to a more competent person, and we congratulate the people of that place upon having secured his service.

GONE TO KANSAS.—Dr. W. W. S. Butler, jr., recently assistant physician at the Western Lunatic Asylum, Staunton, on Tuesday morning last started from Harrisonburg for Emporia, Kansas, with a view to making it his future home. Dr. Butler is a young physician of unquestioned superiority, having graduated with distinction from the University of Marylan, and we have no doubt his skill will speedily bring him into prominence in the field he has chosen. He was accompanied by his wife and mother, and we wish them a safe and pleasant journey.
