Dr. Carmine is a native of Iowa and is about fifty years of age. He was educated in the public schools and in our church colleges in his native state. His ministry has embraced about twelve years in Iowa, six in Kansas and twelve in Colorado. In 1894 he was made presiding elder of the great Rio Grande district whic demands the most heroic service and a great deal of it. Here he proved himself such a master that Bishop Mallalieu took him off at the end of four years and placed him on the Denver district to succeed that prince of administrators, Rev. Dr. B. T. Vincent. On the Denver district he has justified fully the estimate of Bishop Mallalieu of him, in that he has handled most skillfully and helpfully all the problems he has had to contend with in adjusting the debts on churches and on the university, beside those which are ordinary on any district. He will doubless be a most efficient member of the Book Committee.
