Webster Clark, 50, Dies Unexpectedly From Heart Attack

Webster F. Clark, 448 North Fifth street, died today at 6:45 a. m. at his home after having been stricken with a heart attack. He was 50 years of age.

Mr. Clark complained of not feeling well last night when he retired and arose early today when he was stricken. The family physician was called and administered to Mr. Clark prior to his death.

A native of Lower Augusta Township, he was born September 2, 1904 at Fisher's Ferry, a son of the late John and May Snyder Clark. he had been a resident of Sunbury for 33 years and was manager of the H. and E. Rockefeller Distributing Company.

Mr. Clark was a member of the Augusta Baptist Church at Boyle's Run, Lodge 22, Free and Accepted Masons, Sunbury Forest 65, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, a life-long member of the Friendship Hose Company, American Legion Post 44 Home Association, Hummel's Wharf Fire Company, Otzinachson Country Club, Milton, and Sunbury Elks Lodge 267.

Survivors include his wife, the former William Moore; a daughter, Mrs. William Treas, Jr., of Selinsgrove R. D.; two sons, Webster Clark, Jr., Sunbury, and Paul, at home; three grandchildren; two brothers, Morris Webster and Robert F. Webster, both of Sunbury, and a sister, Mrs Melvin George, of Sunbury R. D. 2.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. from the Wirt Funeral Home, Cliftmont. Rev. Michael Sheldon, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

Friends will be received at the Wirt Funeral Home Monday night.

Mildred C. Peifer, 87, Northumberland

NORTHUMBERLAND — Mildred C. Peifer, 87, of Nottingham Village, formerly of 905 N. Fifth St., Sunbury, died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at Sunbury Community Hospital.

She was born Nov. 4, 1910, in Sunbury, the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Dagnell) Moore. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Webster F. Clark Sr., in 1955 and by her second husband, Russell E. Peifer, in 1997.

Mrs. Peifer was formerly employed by Westinghouse Co., Hall's Motor Co. and Old Trail Fabric Co.

She was a former Foster Grandmother at the Selinsgrove Center.

Mrs. Peifer was a member of the Eastern Star, Sunbury.

She enjoyed oil painting.

Mrs. Peifer was a member of First Baptist Church, Sunbury, and attended meetings of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Northumberland.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Webster F. and Pamela Clark of Sunbury; one daughter, Shirley C. Treas of Sunbury; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Paul; two grandchildren, David Treas and Andrea Whitenight; and two brothers, Robert and Richard.

Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home by Rob Auman.
