COVINA, Sept. 4—Miss Daphne Warne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Warne of 1655 Cypress avenue, has announced October 10 as the day she will become the bride of Donald Collins, formerly a resident of Riverside.
The betrothal was revealed at a social gathering of which Mrs. Warne and Mrs. Trask Gant were hostesses, the affair being given at the Gant home on W. Cypress avenue.
The secret was revealed at luncheon time by means of tiny scrolls held by dainty butterflies at the places of the twenty guests. Miss Warne was presented with a Franciscan potter chop plate and the afternoon was spent at the bridge tables.
The wedding is to be solemnized at the Mission Inn at Riverside were Mr. Collins' parents reside. Miss Warne, and alumna of Covina union high school, has for several years been employed in the office of the Azusa Orange company. She is a popular member of the Wednesday Night Girls' club of Covina. For the past two years, Mr. Collins has been house manager at the Covina Citrus association.

Funeral services for Donald A. Collins, 63, president of Blue Goose Growers, Inc., Fullerton, will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. today at Memorial Chapel, Rose Hills Memorial Park. Mr. Collins died Sunday of an apparent heart attack at Newport Beach.
A native of Riverside, he began his career in the citrus-ranching industry as manager-director of the Collins Fruit Co., Highgrove, in 1935.
He became president of Blue Goose Growers, Inc., a subsidiary of Pacific Lighting Corp., in 1971.
Mr. Collins was chairman of the board of Blue Goos, Inc., a produce cooperative; Greenville Corp., Fullerton and Orco Land Co., Fullerton.
He leaves his wife, Delphine, and a daughter, Mrs. Harriet Ann Fisher.
