Addison G. Crowley, 67, president of the State Bank of Randolph and veteran of two world wars, died in W.C.A. Hospital Oct. 18 following emergency surgery earlier that same day. Born in Randolph Dec. 31, 1899, Mr. Crowley was the son of Jerome A. Crowley, president of the State Bank for 31 years and Agnes Gifford Crowley. He was the grandson of Addison Crowley who came to Randolph in 1835 from Holly, Vermont and who was one of the incorporators of the present bank, its first vice president and then its president. In World War I Mr. Crowley served in the U.S. Corps of Engineers seeing action in many overseas areas. In 1946 and 1947 he was engaged in rehabilitation work with the UNRRA in China and was placed in charge of the entire UNRRA welfare program for the Honan Provice with a population of some 40 million persons.
He was elected president of the State Bank on Jan. 13, 1949 after the death of his father.
