MARRIETTA—DE ACRES

Special correspondence: A very pretty home wedding took place last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Marrietta of Vinton when their only daughter, Miss Zoe Marrietta, was joined marriage to Mr. Clyde H. DeAcres of Cedar Rapids. Both young people are well and favorably known in and around Vinton, both having grown up here. Mr. DeAcres has been employed by the Martin Dry Goods company of Cedar Rapids for the past two years and has made an enviable reputation for himself as a salesman. Mrs. DeAcres is one of Vinton's most charming and accomplished young women and has always moved in the best social circles. Her friends are numbered by her acquaintances and while their best wishes go with her to her new home she will be greatly missed. The wedding was set for eight o'clock and promptly at the appointed hour Miss Helen Murphy sang "God Sent Me You," to the strains of which the bride and groom marched down the stairs into the sitting room, where the Rev. Dewitt Clinton, pastor of the Methodist church, awaited them and said the marriage services, the ring ceremony being used. The bride was dressed most becomingly in a pure white gown and carried a beautiful bunch of white roses. After the ceremony the happy pair received the congratulations of nearly a hundred guests who had assembled to witness the marriage, quite a number of whom were from out of town. At nine o'clock a two-course supper was served from small tables set miscellaneously through the rooms. Many beautiful gifts of silver, cut glass, decorated china and furniture were presented to the bridal couple. They will begin housekeeping at once and will make their new home at 834 First avenue east, Cedar Rapids.
