Mr. and Mrs. James Dougherty, Chas. Vinton and Miss Bartram of the Dougherty-Campbell Stock Company are in the city, staying at the home of Prof. and Mrs. Vinton on South Barstow street. They arrived in the city Monday from West Salem, Wis., where the company was to show this week, but on account of the sudden illness of Mrs. James Dougherty and the necessity of bringing her to her parents' home it was necessary to close the show for two or three weeks. This enforced loss of time, while it is regretted, is unavoidable. It is gratifying to learn that the Dougherty-Campbell company ever since their start in June, have had the most unbounded success. They were received every place they exhibitied with the greatest possible satisfaction and were always accorded full, and in many cases, overflowing houses. They put on nice clean plays and employed none but skilled comedians. These people are entitled to the highest possible credit.
