Marjorie Potter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Potter, 138 Silk St., East Mauch Chunk, became the bride of Stewart K. Evans, Flagstaff park, Mauch Chunk, at 11 a. m. yesterday in St. John's Lutheran church, East Mauch Chunk. Rev. William J. Leifeld, pastor, officiated.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a winter white street-length dress with black and white accessories. She wore a corsage of yellow roses. Mary Anna DeRemer, East Mauch Chunk, maid of honor, wore a brown and white street-length dress with brown accessories and a corsage of yellow pompons. Earl Young, Mauch Chunk, was best man.
A family dinner followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. The couple will reside in Jersey City, N. J., where Evans is employed.

Stewart K. Evans Jr., 79, of Lehighton, died Sunday, Feb. 27, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Carole R. (Thayer) Evans.
Born i n Canton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Stewart K. Sr. and Mabel L. (McCollister) Evans.
Survivors: Wife; sons, William S. and David M., both of Allentown; daughter, Pamela J., wife of Phillip Ansell of New Tripoli, seven grandchildren.

Marjorie P. Knauss, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. Se was the wife of the late Pierce A. Knauss. Born in Jim Thorpe, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ada (Bauchspies) Potter. Marjorie worked as a process checker for Lucent Technologies, formerly Western Electric and AT&T until her retirement in 1986. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors: Children, Williams Evans and his wife, Patricia, of Allentown, David Evans and his wife, Diane, of Allentown, Pamela Ansell and her husband, Phillip, of New Tripoli, Dwight Schantz and his wife, Marie, of Bethlehem, and Lee Schantz, of Bethlehem; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson. Marjorie was preceded in death by brothers, Dr. Richard Potter and Thomas Potter.
Services: Memorial Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem. Friends may call from 12 Noon until ethe time of the service.
