ROBERT ERWIN FISHER was born August 16, 1926 in Lansing, Ingham, Michigan,¹²⁹⁴⁰ and died June 4, 1996 in Ionia, Ionia, Michigan.⁶¹³ He is buried in Deepdale Memorial Park, Delta, Eaton, Michigan.⁴⁵⁶

He married MARY HELEN DONALDSON, daughter of HAZEL WEST BOWEN and JOHN EDWARD DONALDSON. She was born October 7, 1930 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana,⁴⁹¹⁷ and died August 13, 2016 in Grand Ledge, Michigan.⁸⁸⁴⁶ She is buried in Deepdale Memorial Park, Delta, Eaton, Michigan.⁴⁵⁶

Age 69, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 1996 at a local nursing home, after a lingering illness. He was the eldest child of Alice E. and Marcus C. Fisher, born August 16, 1926 in Lansing. He grew up in South Bend, IN; graduated from Purdue University and served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Mr. Fisher became a power train project engineer at GM-BOC-Oldsmobile, retiring in 1986 after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Oldsmobile Outdoor Club; the Society of Automotive Engineers, and was a Boy Scout leader for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Renee Fisher; grandchildren, Matthew and Mitchell of Dimondale; daughter, Katherine S. Fisher of Sparta, MI; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Rick Pearce; and grandchildren, Jason and Heather of Gettysburg, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Tom Ahern of Setauket, NY; sister and brother-in-law, Idamae and Jim Maloney of Trumbull, CT; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Lynn Fisher of Hooks, TX; uncle, W. Cuyler Fisher of Bradenton, FL. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Palmer-Bush Delta Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Society.

Mary Helen (Donaldson) Fisher

Mary Helen Fisher, age 85, died August 13, 2016, at Independence Village Assisted Living, Grand Ledge, Michigan. Mary was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 7, 1930, the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Bown) Donaldson of Danville, Indiana.

She joins in peace with her husband, Robert Fisher; brother, Robert (Juanita) Donaldson of North Carolina.

Mary is survived by her son, Bruce (Renee') Fisher of Dimondale, MI; daughters, Kathy Fisher of Sparta, MI, and Dianne (Rick) Pearce of Gettysburg, PA; granddaughter, Heather Pearce and fiance' Grant Hollis; grandsons, Jason Pearce and fiancee' Erin Sheehy of Gettysburg, PA, Matthew Fisher of Royal Oak, MI, and Mitchell Fisher of Ellensburg, WA.

A Graveside Service will be held on September 6th at 3pm at DeepDale Memorial Gardens Walk in the Pines area. DeepDale is located at 4108 Old Lansing Rd., Lansing, MI 48917.

The family will receive guests following the service until 7:30pm at Woldumar Nature Center located at 5739 Old Lansing Rd., Lansing, MI 48917.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's honor to The Alzheimer Association of Michigan/Great Lakes Chapter or Fenner Nature Center.
