Elizabeth L. Gaston, age 91, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009. A celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue with a gathering of family and friends 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the chapel preceding the service. Elizabeth was born November 20, 1917 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Frank B. and Jenny M. (Mackingtosh) Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Orville; sisters, Roberta Bailey, Mary Carter, and Luzella Ann Pyle. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Beverly Best and her husband George; 2 grandchildren, Renee Hicks and Shaun Best; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Hicks; a sister, Jessie Mueller; and several nieces and nephews.
