William A. Cunningham, 327 West Penn Street, died on Wednesday morning in the Carlisle Hospital, after a long illness. He was 74 years old.
Mr. Cunningham was born on Aug. 19, 1886, in York, a son of the late David and Katie Kohler Cunningham. He lived in Carlisle for the last 25 years. He was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Catherine Geiselman Cunningham; one stepson, George W. Engle, Carlisle; and a sister.
Funeral service will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 6:30 South Hanover Street, Gordon M. Bankert, Interim pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, will officate. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call this evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Catherine Cunningham, 81, former resident of 327 W. Penn St., died Thursday at the Cumberland County Nursing Home.
She was the widow of Wiliam A. Cunningham and George W. Engle.
She is survived by a son, George Engle, RD5; a sister, Mrs. Ida Gibson, Philadelphia; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., with the Rev. William L. Schmid, officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. There will be no viewing.

George W. Engle Jr., 76, of 54 Aspen Road, Dillsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1995, in his home.
Born Oct. 29, 1919, in York, he was a son of the late George W. and Catherine Jeisleman Engle.
He retired in February from Carlisle School District, where he was chief custodian at Lamberton Middle School.
He formerly owned and operated with his wife, Engle's Country Store from 1972—78 at King's Gap near Huntsdale. He also worked for 37 years at Masland Industries, Carlisle.
He was a Protestant. He was a 1938 graduate of Boiling Springs High School.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Alma M. Jury Engle; two sons, George D. Recker of Newark, Del., and Jerry A. Engle of Carlisle; two daughters, Dorothy J. Rupp of Carlisle and Patsy M. Klose of Dillsburg; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Edward E. Dyche officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
Friends may all from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
