The following from the State Register of Sunday morning, will be sad news to the friends of Mr. Graham and family, formerly of Cedar Falls:
Mr. W. R. Graham received a telegram yesterday summoning him to the bedside of his invalid daughter, at Boerne, Texas, and conveying the dread information that she was "rapidly failing." Miss Graham, while attending school at Davenport last winter, contracted a violent cold that quickly assumed the form of consumption. The young lady sustained a cruel nervious shock in a railroad accident on the Missouri Pacific railroad last spring when her mother and little brother received severe bodily injuries.
Waterloo Courier, January 11, 18881938
W. R. Graham returned from Texas last Saturday night. He left his daughter, Miss Mamie, very low but not more dangerous than she has been for some time past. He expects a telegram any moment calling him back.
Iowa State Reporter, January 26, 18881933
Miss Mamie Graham, daughter of W. R. Graham, formerly of Cedar Falls, died in Texas last week Wednesday. The young lady, it will be remembered, was injured in a railroad accident several months ago, but was in feeble health before that time.
