PURVIS, Agnes Miller

Agnes Miller Purvis made her final passage into the presence of God on April 1, 2014. She was born to Mag. Gen. Lester Thomas Miller and Agnes Butler Miller on September 7, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas. She spent her childhood moving around the country as her family went to different assignments with her father who was in the Army Air Corps spending most of her teen years at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. She attended Ohio State University where she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was always proud of that and remained an avid Ohio State football fan. With her second husband she once again traveled the country, with kids in tow, as they moved to each of his assignments in the Air Force. This included a three year assignment in France, which allowed them time to see much of Europe. Agnes was preceded in death by her first husband, Percy G. Green, her second husband, Edwin Purvis, her parents, Lester T. and Agnes B. Miller, her brother, Thomas L. Miller, and her sister, Mary Miller. She is survived by her children, Michael L. Green and wife Liz, Mary G. Procknow and husband Errin, Linda J. Purvis and Robert Baker, and Edwin Alan Purvis and wife Jeanie, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. A special mention to her friends in her Way fellowship about whom she always spoke so affectionately. Thank you for your love, kindness, and care. She was also a strong supporter of animal shelters in Ohio. Funeral services will not be observed and she is to be interred at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband Edwin. The family was served by the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, London.
