Hagerty-Bishop
Miss Helen Hagerty, lovely daughter of Mrs. John Lewis Bishop of 4152 Cromwell avenue, Hollywood, was married at 4 p.m. October 19, to Henry John Gurr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Arthur Gurr of Los Angeles, by Dr. Charles Franklin Seitter, who officiated in the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Hollywood.
Banked with greenery and lighted with white tapers, the church made a lovely setting for the ceremony, which was witnessed by a few intimate friends and relatives only. Immediately afterward a reception was given at the home of the bride's mother.
Given in marriage by her brother, Horace H. Hagerty, the bride was attractive in a quaint gown of white chiffon, made with a cape effect and uneven two-tiered skirt. In her hair who wore a wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of Cecile Brunner roses and lilies of the valley.
Her only attendant was her cousin, miss Elizabeth Matson, who wore orchid taffeta and carried an armful of golden Ophelia roses. Serving Mr. Gurr as best man was Noah K. Miller.
After the 15th inst. Mr. and Mrs. Gurr will make their home in Hollywood. The bride is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority of the University of Southern California, from which she was graduated.
