Couple Wed At Parsonage

Mrs. Grace E. Rockwell of 545 East State street and Elmer L. Hall of 600 East State street were married Monda at 1 p. m. in the Parsonage of the First Methodist church.

The Rev. Perry F. Haines, pastor, officiated at the single ring ceremony.

Miss Carolyn Schaffer of Rochester, sister of the bride and John W. Rockwell, son of the bride, were the couple's only attendants.

A reception for members of the immediate families was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Rockwell.

The couple are on a week's wedding trip in Canada and upon their return will reside at 600 East State street.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rockwell and Mr. and Mrs. John Laney of Rochester were out-of-town guests at the wedding.

Elmer L. Hall Succumbs at 83

Had Been Railroad Worker 42 Years

Elmer L. Hall, eighty-three, of 600 East State St., died at 12:30 o'clock Sunday morning (May 3, 1964) in Buffalo General Hospital following surgery. Mr. Hall had been trsnferred there from Salamanca District Hospital Friday after he was injured in a fall at his home earl that morning.

Mr. Hall, who was born in Red House, had been employed first as a brakeman and later as a conductor by the B&O Railroad and the former BR&P Railway before his retirement in 1947. His railroad career spanned forty-two years.

A resident of Salamanca most of his life, Mr. Hall was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and People's Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Hall; one son, A. Burton Hall of Glen Elyn, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Clure of Cambridge, Idaho, and Mrs. Adolph Ebner of Deweyville, Texas; two brothers, Hartman Hall of Timpson, Texas, and Harold Hall of Milwaukee, Ore.; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The body was brought to the Hunt Funeral Home, 28 River St., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. Edwin L. Eldredge, pastor of the People's Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Grace Hall Succumbs at 82

Had Lived Here Past 53 Years

Mrs. Grace E. Hill, eighty two, of 600 East State St., did in the Salamanca District Hospital this morning (July 12, 1972) after an illness of the past three months.

Mrs. Hall was born in Rochester, Jan. 14, 1890, daughter of the late Frank and Julia Wier Schaffer, and had lived in Salamanca for fifty-three years. In 1909, she married Daniel W. Rockwell, who died in 1944. She married Elmer Hall in 1947, who died in 1964.

She was a member of the People's United Methodist Church and Mizpah Chapter 162, Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Hall is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Caroline) Owens of 24 New St., Mrs. Florian (Jean) Kictarek, of Largo, Fla., and Mrs. Herbert (Norma) Barhite of 12 Norwood Ave.; five sons, Elmer E. Rockwell of Rochester, John W. Rockwell of Great Valley, George E. Rockwell, of 527 East State St., Duane Rockwell of 43 Parkway Dr., Raymond Rockwell of 600 East State St., twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Hunt of Salamanca Funeral Home, 28 River St., from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. William Pettibon, pastor of the People's United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

A. BURTON HALL

A. Burton Hall, 87, Blue Springs, died March 1, 1993, at the home. Services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Village United Church of Blue Springs, cremation with burial in Crystal Cathedral memorial Gardens Cemetery, Garden Grove, Calif. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the church. Mr. Hall was born in Salamanca N.Y., and lived in Chicago and Orange, Calif., before moving to this area in 1992. He was a salesman for the Jefferson Ice Co. in Chicago, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Crystal Cathedral and attended the Village United Church of Blue Springs. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hall of the home; three sons, Robert Hall, Westchester, Ill., John Warren Hall, Elk Grove Village, Ill., and Burt Hall Jr., St. Charles, Ill.; two daughters, Sandra Mae Janos, Blue Springs, and Sharon Lee Shanahan Weber, Buffalo Grove, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
