Mrs. Frank Hall Dies on Visit To Daughter

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Rosa Magdalene Fend Hall, 80, of Oakland, Calif., who died here Thursday, are being made by the Butterworth chapel.

Mrs. Hall, widow of Frank L. Hall, an early Seattle newspaper publisher, had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Edgar L. Gale, 412 Queen Anne Av., when she died of a heart attack.

Mrs. Hall was born in Fremont, Ohio. She went with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Fend, to Port Angeles in 1887. She was married to Mr. Hall in 1890 and moved to Seattle a short time later.

Mr. Hall established and published The Seattle Daily Call in 1886. This paper, in consolidation with other papers, later became The Seattle Times.

Mr. and Mrs. Hall moved in 1920 to Oakland, where Mr. Hall died in 1927.

Surviving besides Mrs. Gale, are two other daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Sarber, Oakland, and Mrs. Madeline Baudonnet, Davis, Calif.; a son, George Hall, Oakland; six sisters, Mrs. Margaret Walters, Mrs. Cecilia Stream, and Mrs. Henrietta Meagher, all of Seattle; Mrs. Marcella Mitchell, Puyallup; Mrs. Frances Webster and Mrs. Emma Reese, both of Hawthorne, Calif.; a brother, Theodore Fend, Seattle; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
