Harry A. Hoffman

Harry A. Hoffman, 256 Frederick St., died early Sunday morning at the Hanover General Hospital. He was 87.

The Hanover native was a son of the late William and Prudence Heilman Hoffman.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, The York County Fish and Game Association, and a 47-year member of Elks Lodge No. 763.

He had been a prominent builder and contractor in the area.

Surviving, along with his wife, Irene Stauffer Hoffman, are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Hirt, Gettysburg RD6; Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Little, 212 Country Club Lane, Carterville, Ill.; a brother, George W. Hoffman, 721 York St.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Stauffer, 28 Center St.; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, and will be followed by a graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Carl Luckenbaugh.

Contributions should be made to the York County Cancer Society, York.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Panebaker Funeral Home, Broadway.

Irene S. Hoffman

Irene S. Hoffman, 89, 256 Frederick St., Hanover, died Tuesday at 11:10 p.m. at Hanover General Hospital.

Born in Spring Grove, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Keeney and Lillie Stauffer. She was the wife of the late Harry A. Hoffman, who died Oct. 14, 1979.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ n Hanover.

Surviving are two daughters, Geraldine Hirt, 90 Herr's Ridge Road, Gettysburg, and Margaret H. Little, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ada S. Markle, Palm Harbor, Fla.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, York Street, Hanover. Private graveside sevices will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Her pastor, the Rev. Carroll C. Luckenbaugh, will officiate. There will be no viewing.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Century Trust Fund of Trinity United Church of Christ.

The Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, is in charge of arrangements.
