EVELYN JEAN HOUSTON, daughter of REIKA PAULINE WATKINS and MYRON HENRY HOUSTON, was born in 1925 in Iowa, and died June 23, 1972.⁷⁹⁹² She is buried in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island County, Illinois.⁷⁹⁹²

She married CLIFFORD ROBERT AHLF on August 19, 1947 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.⁷⁹⁹² He was born March 20, 1913 in Muscatine, Muscatine, Iowa,⁹⁵³¹ and died May 12, 1969 in Illinois.⁹⁵³¹

Clifford Ahlf Dies At Age 56; Rites Pending

Clifford R. Ahlf, 58, of North Chicago, Ill., formerly of Rock Island, died yesterday morning at his residence after an extended illness.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Wheean Funeral Home, awaiting the arrival of a son stationed with the Army in Vietnam.

Mr. Ahlf was born in Muscatine, Iowa, March 29, 1913, the son of John and Katherine Hagerman Ahlf. He received his education in Muscatine.

He married Jean Houston Aug. 19, 1947, in Chicago. They lived in Muscatine until moving to Rock Island a number of years ago. He had been a resident in the Chicago area for the past three years.

Mr. Ahlf served with the Army during World War II and had received the Purple Heart while serving in Europe. He had worked in Rock Island for the Borden Co. for a number of years. He had been working for a candy company in North Chicago at the time of his death.

Surviving are two sons, Myron C., in Vietnam, and Jim C., Rock Island; two grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Betty Mueller, Chicago, and two brothers, Fred, Chicago, and Donald, Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.

Services for Mrs. Evelyn J. Ahlf, 47, of 2907 7th Ave., Rock Island, who died Thursday, will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Wheelan Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.

Friends may call at the funeral home today.

Evelyn Huston was born in Weaver, Iowa.

She married Clifford Ahlf Aug. 19, 1947, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1969.

Survivors are the parents, Augustana, Iowa; sons, Myron C., Rapids City, and Jimmy, Rock Island; a daughter, Miss Mary Victoria Ahlf, Rapid City; four grandchildren, and a brother, Gerald Huston, Weaver, Iowa.
