Mr. and Mrs. James Lewis Lawrence announce the marriage of their daughter Mary Eileen to Mr. Francis E> Houston of Fairfield, Va., Wednesday, August 6th, at the home of the brides parents in Riner.
The ceremony which was witnessed only by the immediate families, was performed by Dr. McLaughlin pastor of New Providence Church.
After an automobile trip Mr. and Mrs. Houston will be at home at Fairfield Va.

FAIRFIELD, Jan. 3 — Francis E. Houston, 59, of Fairfield and Blacksburg, Va., died today in the Veterans Hospital in Roanoke.
He was a son of the late W. G.and Fannie Ervine Houston of Fairfield. He was born March 29, 1889, and spent most of his life operating a dairy farm near here and in recent years operated the Tech Studio in Blacksburg. He served in the U. S. Navy In WWI and prior to that attended Augusta Military Academy and Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Eileen Lawrence of Christiansburg and two sisters, Mrs. J. P. Alexander of Fairfield and Mrs. George H. Sheild of Hampton; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for two p.m. Saturday in the Richards Chapel in Christiansburg with interment also in Christiansburg.
