The marriage on Christmas Eve of Perry Finley and Miss Helen Hudspeth united two [of] our popular and highly respected young people. The ceremony was conducted by Dr. N. McGiffin at the Presbyterian parsonage. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Othor Small.
The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sid Hudspeth of East Center, is a graduate of G. H. S., class of 31, has attended State Teachers college at Springfield, and is one of Dade county's successful teachers.
Perry is the son of Mrs. Maude Finley of South township. He is a successful farmer and for the past several has operated his grandfather's large Smith township farm where they will make their home. Both are members of the Greenfield municipal band, and have a large circle of friends who wish them well.

Helen Harriett Hudspeth, daughter of Sidney and Leta Hudspeth, was born March 16, 1913, near Greenfield, Mo. and departed this life June 11, 1935 in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 22 years, 2 months and 25 days.
She was married to Perry Finley December 25, 1933. To this union one child was born Perry Rex.
Helen received her education in Greenfield high school, Springfield Teachers College and Pittsburg, Kans. State Teachers college, preparing herself for a teacher, which occupation she followed for a short time before her marriage.
For some time she was a member of the Greenfield Band being a great lover of music, excelling in that line and winning many medals.
She was ambitious and energetic, a great home lover and devoted to her mother, aiding in household duties and a comfort and companion in every way. She was a pal to her brothers and sister. Her gentle kindly ways made her a universal favorite among classmates, friends and acquaintances. Her untimely passing is a great shock to the entire community. Besides her husband and baby she leaves her bereaved parents, one sister Mrs. Othor Small and one brother Calvin Hudspeth. A brother Harold preceded her in death. These with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends mourn her passing.
Funeral services were conducted by Mrs. S. M. Crank at the Ward Funeral Home in Greenfield on Thursday afternoon, and interment was made in the Greenfield cemetery.
