Helen May Hughes

HELEN MAY HUGHES, daughter of BERTHA LILLIAN WEED and EDWARD ROSS HUGHES, was born June 20, 1920 in Corvallis, Benton, Oregon,¹¹⁵⁹³ and died October 30, 2004.¹¹⁵⁹³ She is buried in Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton, Marion, Oregon.⁴⁵⁶

Helen May (Poole) Burr

June 20, 1920 - October 30, 2004

STAYTON - Helen was born in Corvallis to Ross and Bertha L. Hughes. She was the oldest of five children. In 1933 Helen and her family moved to Stayton where her Dad became employed at the Paris Woolen Mill. Helen Married T. F. 'Sid' Burr in 1972; he passed away in 2001. Helen worked for Paris Woolen Mill for 37 years. She enjoyed yard work. Helen was a member of the Stayton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Hughes of Stayton; sisters, Margaret Todd of Sublimity and Ruby Stayton ot Stayton; sister-in-law, Donora Hughes of Jefferson; and friend, Susie Schumacher of Scio. Her brother, Calvin Hughes, preceded her in death.

Visiting will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mon., Nov. 1, 2004 and services will be at 2 p.m., Mon., Nov. 1, both at Weddle Funeral Home, Stayton. Interment will be at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton. Contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Stayton United Methodist Church.
