A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fielding V. Jackson of 1,140 Fifth Avenue, on Tuesday at York House. Mrs. Jackson is the former Miss Julia Tower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. Tower of Providence.

RIDGEFIELD, Conn., March 28— Miss Julia Anne Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fielding Vaughn Jackson, was married to James Dennington Long of New York, son of Mrs. Charles Dennington-Long of London and the late Mr. Dennington-Long, this afternoon in the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. Albert C. Ronander performed the ceremony, which was followed by a reception in the home.
Escorted by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of ivory satin made with a fitted bodice and a full skirt, and a cap of matching material. She carried a bouquet of fleur d'amour and lilies of the valley.
Mrs. Henry K. Willard Jr. of Washington, D. C., was matron of honor. James J. Ennis of New York was bet man. The ushers were Gerald F. Garduno, Charles E. Cole and James A. Jackson, a brother of the bride.
Mrs. Long, an alumna of the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, also attended Connecticut College. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Jackson of Ridgefield and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. Tower of Providence, R. I.
The bridegroom, who was graduated from Eilliam Ellis College in Highgate, England, also attended Cambridge University and the Royal Air Force Staff College at Cranwell, England. Mr. Long's first marriage to Miss Patricia Colt Barrows of Providence ended in divorce.
Mr. Long served as a fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain, and received the Order of the British Empire, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Force Cross and the French Croix de Guerre.
When they return from a wedding trip abroad, the couple will reside at 23 East Ninety-third Street, New York.

JULIA JACKSON YOUNG June 26, 1928 ~ October 6, 2021 Julia J. "Julie" Young passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 after an extended illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Fielding V. Jackson and Julia Tower, her first husband, James D. Long, her brother, James A. Jackson of Charlotte, Vt, and her husband, Roslyn D. "Sonny" Young. Julie is survived by her three daughters- Susan van Wagenberg (Hannes), Kimberley Vierbuchen (Tom) and Jennifer Long and her grandchildren, Tommy Vierbuchen (Karen), Anna Vierbuchen, Andrea van Wagenberg, and Gideon Dodge (Ann) and Sonny's two daughters, Betsy Young (John Benziger) and Charlotte Young (Calvin Cobb) and their children- Charlie Benziger, Peter Benziger (Anabel), Fanny Benziger, Christian Cobb, Sunny Cobb, and Susan Cobb. Julie spent most of her childhood in Ridgefield Ct. before attending The Ethel Walker School and Connecticut College. After gradu-uating from high school at age 16, she spent a summer at the University of Wisconsin studying French before starting her first year of college. After college, she moved to NYC and worked as an executive assistant at RCA. She married Jim Long in 1953 and moved to Wilton, CT. Ten years later, Julie and her three daughters moved to Washington, DC, where she met and married her second husband, Roslyn D. "Sonny" Young. Julie had many interests and lived a very active full life. She was an avid reader and loved collecting books and art. She read and spoke French fluently. She loved to travel and went on many trips with Sonny, their friends and family. She enjoyed going to the theatre and had season tickets for many years to the Arena Stage and the Kennedy Center. Julie also enjoyed being a volunteer at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Children's Hospital Medical Center and Dumbarton House. She loved to garden and had been a member of the Acorn Garden Club. Julie was a Colonial Dame like her mother and loved researching her family's ancestry going back to Roger Williams. Julie was most proud of being a Trustee of the Maryland Nature Conservancy for 35 years. She was an excellent golfer and won many golf tournaments over the years, although she mostly enjoyed playing with the "family" golfers and friends at the Chevy Chase Club, Farmington Country Club, and the Talbot Country Club in Easton, MD. Julie loved spending weekends on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where she and Sonny built a home overlooking Broad Creek. She adored her precious Norwich terriers- Neville, Erso, Raisin, Lettice, Barley, and Berry and Thistle who were her constant companions over the years. Julie was ever thoughtful and faithful to her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Julie's life will take place at a later date in 2022.
