Announcements have been received here of the marriage of Miss Eula Ruth Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis of Oswego, Oregon, to Nolan Jeff of Oregon City, Oregon. The couple were married in Burley, Idaho, May 5th and they will make their home there, the groom being employed in garage work.

Mrs. Jeff is a former Council Grove resident. Mrs. Victor Morfitt is a sister of the bride and W. E. Davis of this city is also a relative.

Nolan L. Jeffs

Nolan Lee Jeffs, 82-year-old Burley resident, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.

He was born July 9, 1916, at Basin, Idaho, the son of George and Ella Louise Dayley Jeffs. He received his education in Oakley and in Oregon. He returned to Burley in 1940 and married (Eula) Ruth Davis on May 4, 1940, in Burley. A member of the Idaho National Guard, Nolan was a master sergeant and later a first lieutenant.

He worked at Hanzel Motor as manager of the auto body department until starting Nolan's Auto Body Shop in 1954, which he operated until 1998. He taught Bible studies for more than 20 years and had a great love for the Lord. Nolan was past president of the Full Gospel Businessmen's's Fellowship. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Burley; a son, Denis Nolan (LaFaun) Jeffs of Burley; a daughter, Nancy Ruth (Jim) Haskin of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, at the Payne Memorial Chapel, 221 W. Main in Burley. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Payne Mortuary and one hour before the funeral Thursday.
