GATES, Martha Kimball, passed away April 4, 1997 at Lake Arrowhead, California, of heart failure. Martha was the widow of golfing wizard, Ward 'Three Iron' Gates; and beloved mother and best friend of daughter, Allene McClelland, former California Women's Amateur Golf Champion. In addition to daughter Allene, Martha is survived by a sister, Fay DeNisi, of Vista, California.
