Booze, clandestine meetings, joyrides and parties at roadhouses and dance halls were showered upon Mrs. Lucille Geraldine Kurth Deaton in an effort to win her love and affections away from him, Bruce C. R. Deaton, Seattle automobile man, charges, in a suit for $50,000 love balm file in superior court Saturday.
A. C. Adamson, Seattle real estate salesman, is blamed by the husband, Mrs. B. F. Kurth, mother of Mrs. Deaton, and Dr. Helen Seymour, a practicing physician, with apartments in the Granada, are name co-defendants.
Deaton recently was arrested when he jumped on the running board of Adamson's car and beat him over the head with a windshield wing he tore off the machine. The car, unguided, sped down Union st., from Third ave. and crashed into a street car at First ave. and Union st. Mrs. Deaton was in the machine at the time.
Deaton sets forth he was married in April, 1920, and lived happily until Adamson came into his life. Many clandestine meetings were held at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Kurth, and at the apartments of Dr. Seymour, which were used for Drinking parties, the complaint charges. The two, Adamson and Mrs. Deaton, also frequently went to roadhouses and dance halls of ill-repute, the complaint charges.
As a result of the conspiracy, the complaint charges, Mrs. Deaton, thru Adamson's attorney, brought suit for divorce. He alleges he has been damaged in his business, and thru personal suffering and indignities, to the sum of $50,000.

Word was received on Whidbey last week of the death of Edward Alonzo Swift, Jr., grandson of Louise Swift.
Mrs. Swift was the author of many letters written during pioneer days when the family settled on Whidbey Island. Her letters are a treasured records in many historical libraries.
Mr. Swift was an assistant corporation counsel and a graduate of the University Law school. A combined Legion and Masonic funeral was held Monday in Seattle.
Mrs. Hattie Swift Race and Mrs. Maude Fullington are now the only members of the original Swift family left.

Mrs. Lucille K. Swift, of 5902 Greenwood Av. N., died Friday after a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 1 o'clock tomorrow in the Adams Forkner Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Acacia Mausoleum.
Mrs. Swift, born in Eau Claire, Wis., came to Seattle from New Jersey in 1943. Her husband, Alonzo, an attorney, died in 1954.
Surviving are a brother, Lloyd Kurth, Seattle, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Race, of Coupeville, Whidbey Island.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to favorite charities.
