ELMER J. KURTZ

Elmer J. Kurtz, 65 years old, retired Cumberland county farmer, died Tuesday at his home in Boiling Springs after an illness of several months.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Maude B. Kurtz; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Miller, Boiling Springs; one son, William Kurtz, Craighead, and five grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Myers funeral home in Mechanicsburg, the Rev. J. B. Reed, Boiling Springs, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Myers funeral home.

Mrs. Maud B. Kurtz

Mrs. Maud B. Kurtz, RD6, widow of Elmer J. Kurtz, died on Wednesday in the Carlisle Hospital. She was 77 years old.

Born on Jan. 29, 1887, in Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late David and Eliza Brougher Smith. She was a member of the Otterbein Church, Boiling Springs, and the Earnest Workers Class of the Sunday School.

She is survived by: a son, William J. Kurtz, Boiling Springs; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Roth Funeral Home, 169 West High Street. The Rev. Richard D. Leonard, pastor of Otterbein Church and the Rev. J. H. Lehman, retired E.U.B. minister, will officiae. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday evening at the funeral home.
