Miss Pauline Wallace of Mt. Wolf Weds

Mt. Wolf—Miss Pauline Esther Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Latimer Wallace, this place, and Steward Emanuel Lau, 119 Hamilton avenue, York, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lau, Spring Grove, RD 2, were married at 12:30 p. m. Saturday in the parsonage of Mt. Zion Reformed charge.

Rev. Carl Osenbach, Reformed pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride's white street-length dress of Faconne was fashioned with sweetheart neckline, long fitted bodice, three-quarter sleeves, a wide draped sash tied in a large bow in the back and a full skirt. She wore white mitts, a matching headdress with a short veil and a single strand of pearls. Her corsage was of orchids and baby's breath.

The matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Daniel Brenneman, of 961 North George street, York, who wore a street-length dress of dusty rose fashioned of the fabric and line as the bride, except for cap sleeves. She wore a matching headdress and white mitts with a corsage of gardenias and pink rosebuds.

Daniel Brenneman, the bride's brother-in-law, was best man.

The bride is a graduate of Manchester High school in the class of 1940 and is employed at Superior Paper Products plant. Her husband, a veteran of three years Army service, is employed by Kalamazoo Stove and Furnace company.

Steward E. Lau

Retired PennDOT foreman

MANCHESTER — Steward E. "Stu" Lau, 83, of Manchester, died at 9:17 p.m. Monday at Memorial Hospital, York. He was the husband of Pauline E. (Wallace) Lau. The couple had observed the 47th anniversary of their wedding on June 26.

The service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the William E. Little Funeral Home, 60 S. Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lau was born June 10, 1912, near Spring Grove in Jackson Township. He was the son of the late Robert and Minnie (Stambaugh) Lau.

He was employed for 35 years with PennDOT, retiring as a maintenance foreman in 1974. He was a member of Starview United Church of Christ.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a technician five with 508th Engineer Light Platoon Company, serving at Normandy, in Northern France and The Rhineland. He was recipient of the European-African-Middle East service and American Theater medals. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Mount Wolf Post 2493, the Manchester Fire Company and American Association of Retired Persons. Mr. Lau also is survived by a son, Robert G. Lau, of Buffalo, Wyo.; a daughter, Rebukha E. Lau of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annie Senft of Spring Grove. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamarra Lau.

Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Robert Achtermann.
