Willard Mummert Senft, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Senft, North Walnut street, Spring Grove, and Miss Annie Jane Lau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Lau, near Wiota, were united in marriage at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The ring ceremony of the Lutheran Church was performed by the Rev. Henry R. Spangler, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Lutherville, Md., at the parsonage at that place. The newlyweds are living at the home of the bridegroom's parents. The bridegroom is a graduate of the Spring Grove High school and has been employed during the last year at the Fleet-Wing service station in Spring Grove.

Spring Grove

Willard M. Senft of Spring Grove died at 7 p.m. March 7 at York County Hospital & Home. He was 83.

Mr. Senft retired from AMF, Inc. Prior to that, he was employed at Reed Machinery. After retirement, he was a custodian at Saint Francis Prep School, Spring Grove.

He was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Spring Grove.

He was also a member of Spring Grove Friendship Hose Co. and the AARP.

He was a 1936 graduate of Spring Grove Area High School.

Born in Spring Grove May 26, 1917, he was a son of the late John and Beulah A. Mummert Senft.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Annie J. Lau Senft; three daughters, Connie L. Novotny of York, Carola A. Parks and Barbara J. Vishe, both of Spring Grove, seven grandsons, and six great-grandchildren.

After cremation, a memorial service is at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Sauter-Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Jack t. Chasman officiating.

Burial is in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Spring Grove

Annie Jane (Lau) Senft, 31, of Spring Grove died Monday, March 25, 2002, at York Hospital.

Born Dec. 27, 19[19], in Spring Grove, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Minnie (Stambaugh) Lau.

She was employed as a cook at St. Francis Prep School in Spring Grove for many years, and a cook for the Papertown Dairy Bar and the Papertown Inn in Spring Grove. She was a member of the Windy Hill Senior Center and AARP.

Surviving are three daughters, Connie L. Novotny of York, Carol A. Parks of Spring Grove, and Barbara J. Vishe of Dover; seven grandsons and sixteen great grandchildren.

There will be no viewing. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St.,. Spring Grove, with the Rev. Jack T. Cashman, pastor of York Christian Fellowship Church, will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 66 Big Mount Road, Thomasville, PA 17364.
