Milton Mershon Marries Perry Girl

Milton Mershon, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Mershon of this city,w as married to Miss Ruth Irvine of Perry, Oklahoma, Saturday, June 13. Mr. Mershon was practically reared in Walters have graduated from Walters High School in 1916. He has completed a course in geology at the Oklahoma University and is now employed with an oil company at Tulsa. He is a man of sterling character and is valued as a true friend by all who are acquainted with him. Mrs. Mershon possesses and amiable disposition and an unusual and pleasing personality that gains her friends everywhere she goes.

Mr. and Mrs. Mershon arrived in Walters Thursday for an extended visit with Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Mershon and family.

Former Tulsan Dies in Texas

Milton M. Mershon, 81, former long-time Tulsan and former petroleum engineer, died Monday at Houston, Tex., nursing home.

Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday at Houston. Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery here under the direction of Stanleys Funeral Service.

A 41-year resident of Tulsa, Mershon had resided in Houston for the past four years.

Mershon attended Henry Kendall College and was a World War I veteran, serving in France with the 91st Aerial Squadron.

Mershon was employed by Public Service Co. for 26 years before retiring. He was a member of First Christian Church, Sons of the American Revolution, and Knights of Templar. In 1971, he received his 50-year membership pin from the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Edmund S. Bard, Houston, and Mrs. Sigmund F. Bajak, Scarsdale, N.Y.; a son, Dr. F. Allen Mershon, Houston; three sisters; two brothers; nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
