Dr. Carl William Morgan

Dr. Carl William Morgan, 84, of Austin, Texas died Sunday, August 6, 2000.

Dr. Morgan was a retired Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, and a retired U.S. Army officer. He was a veteran of DDay, the Battle of the Bulge and Remagen Bridge.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Vivian Morgan; and their two sons, Keith Lanier Morgan, of Dallas and Dr. Michael William Morgan, of Pearland.

All who knew him will miss his gift for teaching, his sense of humor, his appreciation of music, sports and the outdoors, and his honesty, humility, kindness, generosity and faith.

Family visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at St. David's Episcopal Church, where Dr. Morgan was a longtime dedicated parishioner, with The Reverend T. James Bethell officiating; burial will follow at Capital Memorial Park.

Dorothy Vivian Glithero Morgan, born June 16, 1916 in Columbus, Texas, died December 11, 2001, in Houston, Texas.

Gifted teacher, musician, cook and loving and beloved wife and mother, she devoted much of her life to her husband, the late Dr. Carl W. Morgan; to her sons, Keith Morgan (now of Dallas) and Michael Morgan (now of Pearland); to St. David's Episcopal Church; and to the University of Texas, where her husband taught.

Her kindness and concern for others were well known and much appreciated. Children loved her especially, but everyone will miss her.

Services will be held Thursday, December 13th at 2:00 p.m. at St. David's Episcopal Church with the Reverend T. James Bethell officiating. Free parking will be available in St. David's parking garage, entrance on Trinity Street between 7th and 8th Streets. Interment will follow at Capital Memorial Park.
