Edna Pearl Atkins

Edna Pearl Atkins, 94, resident of Golden Rule Nursing Center, died there Sunday, Feb. 12, after a long illness.

She was born Oct. 7, 1900 in Union County to Thoas and Clara Thomas Mullen and had lived in Richmond most of her life. She was a former employee of the Starr Piano Co., a member of Faith Trinity United Methodist Church and past member of the Letter Carriers Auxiliary. Her husban, John H. Atkins, died in 1962.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty M. Brelage, Mary A. Benner and Dorothy J. Lineback, all of Richmond; one son, Robert H. Atkins of Orlando, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; cousins.

Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred Haywood, of Faith Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the funeral home.
