{Black River Falls Banner, Dec. 12)
There was a wedding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Levis Tuesday evening which will permanently take from our midst one of our most esteemed and accomplished young ladies, Miss Sadie Cecilia Thomas, the groom being James Bowen Noble, a former resident of Eau Claire, and son of the well-known late Dr. Noble, who made something of a reputation as a member of the state senate a number of years ago.
The ceremony was performed about nine o'clock in the evening by Rev. Father Reigelsperger. A six o'clock dinner was served upon the arrival of the groom, who came on the evening train for the happy event, and after the ceremony and congratulations, refreshments were again served and the bride and from took the midnight train (several hours belated) for Peoria, Ill., where he is engaged as civil engineer on a government break-water job. He has a house ready furnished and prepared for their coming there, where they will at once enter housekeeping.
The wedding was not a large one, there being only a few of the intimate relatives and friends of the bride in attendance. Among the guests from abroad were the bride's sister, Miss Hattie Thomas and a friend, Miss Ida Melverstad, who came up from Madison Saturday for the occasion.
The bride was born and reared in this vicinity and received her high school education here. After leaving school she taught in this county several years, but has been in Madison the past twelve years as bookkeeper and stenographer for the Stark-Levis Land Co., and also for a time has been bookkeeper for Dr. Head. She is also a very competent and industrious young lady and will have the congratulations and well wishes of the whole community. Last winter she acted as stenographer and bookkeeper for McDonald & Levis on their big retaining wall contract.
The groom is an engineer of considerable note and is in good line for making his mark in his profession, and we understand that he is a man of very excelling qualifications in general.
