She married EDWIN RAY SIMONS on January 17, 1906 in Coleman, Midland, Michigan.⁴⁴³¹ He was born July 15, 1881,⁴⁵³² and died July 20, 1957.⁸⁵²⁹ He is buried in Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman, Midland, Michigan.⁴⁵⁶

Florence Simons

BAD AXE — Mrs. Florence V. Simons, 90, of Coleman died Thursday, August 23 at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Bad Axe and was buried in Warren Township Cemetery in Coleman, August 26.

Florence Phiel was born in Martin, Ohio June 26 1883 and married Edwin R. Simons in Coleman in January, 1906. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1957.

Mrs. Simons attended Ypsilanti Normal School as a youth and taught in Coleman from 1904 to 1906. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and also belonged to the D.A.R., Coleman Study Club and Coleman Ladies Guild. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Coleman.

She is survived by her son, Robert of Coleman; one daughter, Mrs. Mary McCarty of Bad Axe; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The funeral was held Sunday, August 26 from the O'Laughlin Funeral Home in Coleman. Rev. Theodore Bennink officiated at the services.
