Kennedy-Pickett

Miss Venita Kennedy and Mr. Edward Pickett were married Tuesday, Nov. 23rd at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Kennedy, south of Stewartsville, Rev. Granville Snell officiating. The bride wore her traveling suit and carried brides roses. Mrs. Granville Snell sang, Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes and I Love You Truly preceding the ceremony. Miss Lillian Parr played the wedding music. After a short trip Mr. and Mrs. Pickett will be at home on the W. E. Pickett farm east of Stewartsville.

Edward E. Pickett Sr., 84, Stewartsville, Mo., died Wednesday afternoon at a Cameron, Mo., hospital. Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Bram-Summerfield funeral home in Stewartsville. Burial will be in the Stewartsville cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.

Venita F. Pickett

1899-1999

STEWARTSVILLE, Mo. — Venita F. (Kennedy) Pickett, 100, Stewartsville, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at the Cameron, Mo., hospital.

Mrs. Pickett, a homemaker, also had been a school teacher.

Born near Stewartsville on May 31, 1899, she was a graduate of Cameron High School.

Mrs. Pickett was a member of the Presbyterian-Christian Church, Stewartsville, where she was a Sunday school superintendent and teacher, and active in the women's fellowship.

On Nov. 22, 1920, she married Edward Pickett in Stewartsville. He died in 1980.

Mrs. Picket also was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lemmer Kennedy; two brothers, Thomas and James Kennedy; and two sisters, Sybil Everett and Sue M. Pickett.

Surviving: a son, Eddie, Stewartsville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Bram-Summerfield Funeral Home, Stewartsville. Burial: Stewartsville Cemetery. Family visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be mad to the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 69, Stewartsville, MO 64490.
