Tom Reeder Takes a Bride

Lucille I. Frye, of Hopkins and Thomas J. Reeder of Hopkins were married Tuesday, January 21, at Troy Kansas by Judge John R. Bell. The bride wore a brown wool suit with white accessories.

Mrs. Reeder, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Miller of Kansas City Mo. She graduated from high school at Junior Tech. High at Pasadena, California and is a graduate of the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. She served five years in the Army Air Corps and at one time was with Jimmy Dolittle's outfit.

The groom is the son of Fred A. Reeder of Hopkins. He attended Hopkins high school and then served four years in the United States Army 36 months of which were spent in the European Theatre and the North Africa and Italian campaigns.

The newlyweds are at home in the Reeder residence in west Hopkins.

MRS. THOMAS REEDER

Mrs. Eva L. Reeder, 76, of 2742 Chelsea, died Wednesday at the Menorah Medical Center. She was born in Kingston, Mo., and had lived in the Kansas City area 34 years. She was a member of the Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral. She was a member of the Ivanhoe Chapter 244 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Ararat Oriental Band Auxiliary. She leaves her husband, Thomas J. Reeder of the home; a son, Harold D. Burton, Parkville, and two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Allen, Pineville, La., and Mrs. Eva C. McDonald, Brownsburg, Ind. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the cathedral; burial at 1 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight at the Earp and Sons Truman Road Chapel.

Berniece Rhea Reeder, 80, Independence, died Jan. 7, 1993, in the Windsor Estates Convalescent Center, Independence. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Carson Independence Chapel; burial in Valhalla Cemetery, St. Louis. Friends may call from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Mrs. Reeder was born in St. Louis and lived in this area most of her life. She was an inspector at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant before she retired. She was a member of the Fraas-Fain post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Military Order of the Cootie, the Raytown Shrine Club and Provost Unit and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was a member of the Maywood Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Thomas J. Reeder of the home, and a sister, Irlene Stolle, Litchfield, Ill.

Lula M. Gildea, 94, Grandview, Mo., died Monday, March 13, 1995. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Coronation Catholic Church; burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the McGilley State Line Chapel where the Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. VFW Auxiliary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital. Mrs. Gildea was born May 24, 1900, in Forest City, Ia. She was a member of VFW and Coronation Catholic Church. She was a retired fur finisher and seamstress fro Alaskan Fur Company. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kelly Branstetter. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Schuyler, Grandview, Mo.; a son-in-law, Harold Schuyler; a brother, Milborne Simons, Lincoln, Mo.; sisters, Clara Moore, Columbia, Mo., Esther Forehand, Jonesboro, Ark.; four grandchildren; Anne Dewitte, Leslie Denny, Dennis Branstetter, and Jeff Branstetter; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
