Will and Probate for Adam D. Reid
Allen County, Indiana, November 7, 19006498
I, Adam D. Reid, of the county of Allen and state of Indiana, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do hereby make and declare this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
Item I. It is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses are to be fully paid out of my estate.
Item II. I give and bequeath to my daughter Inez M. Crane and my son Charles S. Reid each the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) to be paid out of my estate within one year after my death providing I survive my wife but if my wife survives me then said bequests are to be paid within one year after the death of my Wife.
Item III. In lieu of the interest which my wife has in my estate and in case my wife survives me, I give and devise and bequeath to my wife Rodantha J. Reid all my personal property of whatever value and description, and real estate said real estate being described as follows. Lots numbered Two (2) and Three (3) in Didier's Subdivision of lots number Nine (9) Eight (8) Seven (7) and part of number Six (6) in Edsall's Subdivision of Lagro Section containing nine and 87/100 acres except 15 feet (fifteen) off the side of said lots for a road in Allen County, Indiana, to have and to hold the same by my said wife during her natural life and at her death all the property aforesaid to her bequeathed and divide, except such as may be need to pay the debts and funeral expenses aforesaid, to my sons Arthur A. Reid, Clement C. Reid and Clarence B. Reid, their heirs and assigns forever.
Item IV. And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my son Clement C. Reid executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I, the said Adam D. Reid have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight-hundred and ninety nine.
Signed, sealed published and declared by the said Adam D. Reid, as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his request, have subscribed our names as witness thereto.
