PARENT—RICHARDSON—At Danville, Ind., Oct. 31st, 1904, by Rev. Webb, Mr. Claude M. Parent, of Pittsburg, Kas., and Miss Jessie Richardson of Cayuga, Ind.
Cayuga Herald, February 21, 191313015
That Mr. Warren Marlatt and Miss Jessie Richardson were married some two months ago, came as a surprise to their many friends here when it was announced last Saturday. it was quite generally known as to the intentions of the young couple, since no secret was made of their preparations for the happy event. They had rented the Kiger cottage in Cayuga Heights and had been busy in furnishing and preparing ti as a place of abode. Their most knowing friends, however, had not expected the real truth, and all their plans for the charivari festivities were baffled when it was learned the couple were already settled down to the realities of life.
Mr. and Mrs. Marlatt were united in marriage on December 27, 1912, at Monticello, Ill. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Richardson, and most of her life has been spent in Cayuga, where she is well known and popular. The groom came here from Veedersburg and is an employe of the Clover Leaf railroad on the pusher, or hill engine, at Cayuga. The recently wedded couple have the best wishes of hosts of friends in the community for the future.
Cayuga Herald, November 29, 191813016
This death of Mrs. Jessie Marlatt-Richardson occurred at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Richardson, in Cayuga, Sunday night, November 24, 1918 at 11 o'clock, after an illness of three weeks and two days.
She had come from her home in Frankfort, Ind., for a visit and was taken ill a day or two thereafter and never rallied from the attack of influenza, which from the first was severe, and developing pneumonia, proved fatal. She had always enjoyed good heath, and was of that bright, cheery disposition that bespoke for her long years yet ahead in this life but the mysterious hand that reaches out and strikes, no one knows where, chose to cut off a life in the prime of young womanhood.
Jessie May Richardson was born in Eugene, June 16, 1885, the daughter of Frank C. and Mary Gillis-Richardson, and was their only child. She grew up in this community and practically her whole life has been spent here. She was married on December 27, 1912, to Warren Marlatt. For over a year past they had made their home in Frankfort, Ind., where Mr. Marlatt was employed, but she was always a frequent visitor to her parents and friends in Cayuga. Besides the parents and husband, the nearest surviving relatives are the aunts and uncles, most of whom live in this vicinity and Danville, Ill.
Funeral service, conducted by G. L. Watson was held at the Richardson home here Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock and the remains taken to Danville, interment being at Springhill cemetery.
