Miss Ella Schacht, who will be among the June brides with her marriage to J. Vaulx Risser, was honoree at an afternoon party Friday, for which Mrs. T. S. Risser and Miss Katherine Risser were hostesses at their home, 821 South Fourteenth street. Sixteen guests were invited for bridge, and included were Misses Mildred Mayborn and Evelyn Krotz, Diller; Miss Erma Schacht and Mrs. H. H. Schacht, Cook. Refreshments were served at small tables, appointed in pink and green.

A prettily arranged wedding will take place in Cook Sunday, when Miss Ella Carolyn Schacht, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Schacht of Cook, is united in marriage with J. Vaulx Risser of Lincoln, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Risser, also of this city, at 4 o'clock. The Rev. J. M. Hertel will read the lines before a group of twenty-five guests, with the bridal party arranged before a background of pink and white gladioli and greenery, inset with candelabra of ivory tapers.
When the guests have gathered, Miss Dorothy Douglas of Lewiston, violinist, accompanied by Miss Mildred Mayborn of Diller, will play a prelude of nuptial selections, after which William Damme of Talmage, with Miss Emma Damme of Talmage accompanying him, is to sing "I Love You Truly" and "O Promise Me." The sister of the bride, Miss Wilma Schacht, will play the Lohengrin processional and during the ceremony, Miss Mayborn will accompany softly.
Mis Schacht has chosen another sister, Mis Erma Schacht, for her bridesmaid. Her frock is fashioned of yellow mousseline de soie, floor length, and she is carrying an arm bouquet of Talisman roses.
Fred Schlueter of Grand Island is serving as Mr. Risser's groomsman.
For her bridal gown, Miss Schacht is wearing white mousseline desoie, falling into a short train from two cascades in the back. The bodice has the smart high neckline and the sleeves are puffed above the elbow, and are tight fitting over the forearm. Miss Schacht's veil is finger tip length, caught into a lace cap. She is carrying a white silk handkerchief that her mother carried for her wedding, and her flowers are white roses and lilies of the valley.
A reception follows the ceremony. Mrs. John Moeller of Cook is assisting in the rooms.
Mr. Risser is taking his bride to the Ozarks on their wedding trip, after which they will be at home at 824 South Sixteenth street, Lincoln. She is traveling in a black and white silk dress with white accessories.
Miss Schacht attended Lindenwood college, St. Charles, Mo., for two years, and another two years at Nebraska, where she belongs to Phi Mu sorority. Mr. Risser, also a graduate, is a member of Theta Xi and of Sigma Tau, honorary engineering group.

She will carry a white silk handkerchief, which her mother carried at her own wedding, and the bridal bouquet will be of white roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Erma Schacht, who will serve as her sister's only attendant, will wear yellow mousseline do soie and carry talisman roses. Fred Schlueter will serve as best man.
At the reception, Mrs. John Moeller will be in charge of the evening. Out of town guests will be Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Risser, Misses Katherine and Betty Risser, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Reitter, Misses Lorraine Kuse and Alice Kier and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Schacht and Donna Ann.
Following their wedding trip, the couple will reside in Lincoln at 824 So. 16th.
The bride attended Lindenwood college for two years, and University of Nebraska for two years. She is a member of Phi Mu sorority. Mr. Risser, a graduate of the engineering college at the university, is a member of Theta Xi and of Sigma Tau fraternities. He is in the state department of roads and irrigation.

Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Saturday at Roper & Sons Mortuary, 4300 0, for James Vaulx Risser, 62, president of Midwest Steel Works who died early Thursday morning.
Mr. Risser, who lived at 3600 So. 30th, suffered a heart attack in Chicago while en route home from the Orange Bowl game in Miami.
He was taken from a Rosemont, Ill., hotel room early Thursday to Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, where he died, according to his daughter, Mrs. Brad Hartwig of Lincoln.
Mrs. Hartwig had been traveling with her parents and said her father had a history of heart trouble.
Mr. Risser, who with John H. Snyder formed Midwest Steel in 1945, was one of Lincoln's most enthusiastic baseball boosters.
At one time he was executive vice president of the Lincoln Baseball team and after professional baseball left Lincoln, kept Sherman Field operational through promotion of American Legion Hall.
Born in Council Bluffs, Mr. Risser moved to Lincoln in 1912.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and was graduated from the University of Nebraska with degrees in architectural and civil engineering.
He was affiliated with Sigma Tau honorary engineering fraternity and Theta Xi social fraternity.
He was a member of Lancaster Lodge No. 54 AF&AM, Lincoln Consistory, Scottish Rite No. 320, Sesostris Temple of Shrine, Green Fez, and Royal Order of Jesters, Lincoln Court No. 118.
He is a past president of the Lincoln Downtown Sertoma Club from 1950 to 1951; the Lincoln Country Club in 1967, and the Lincoln Junior Chamber of Commerce, 1944-45. The Jaycees later gave him their highest honor, a life membership for services to the organization.
Mr. Risser is a past member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Lincoln Engineers Club and the Lincoln Electric System Power Board.
He is survived by his wife, Ella C.; son, James V. of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Charlotte Hartwig of Lincoln and four grandchildren.
