Mrs. Scott Button of Englewood, NJ, and Corinth, has announced the engagement of her daughter, Cynthia Ann, to Arthur Wirt Robinson Jr. of this city. Mr. Robinson is the son of Mrs. Elsie Henshaw Robinson of Paris, France and Bridgeport, Conn., and of Arthur Wirt Robinson of Philadelphia.
Miss Button was graduated from Dwight School for Girls and Smith College and is member of the Junior League of Schenectady.
Mr. Robinson was educated in France and is a graduate of L'Ecole Polytechnique. He received his master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a member of Sigma Xi. He is an engineer in the aeronautics and ordnance divisions of the General Electric Co.

The bride was given in marriage by Theodore E. Steers of Madison, NJ.
Mrs. Meredith Stiles of Milburn, NJ, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Nathalie Bird of Washington, Conn., and Miss Nancy Ipsen of this city.
John L. Garrison of this city was the best man. Ushers were Theodore R. Brown and James Hervis Haufler of this city, Stewart DuBois Moot of Rochester, and James Donaldson Paxton of Fairfield, Conn.
A reception for the immediate families and friends was held at the Hotel Van Curler.

Arthur W. Robinson, General Electric engineer in Philadelphia, is scheduled to attend an international congress on rockets and guided missiles in Paris next month.
ROBINSON formerly lived in Schenectady while working for GE here. He is weapons systems engineer for the missile and ordnance systems department in Philadelphia.
His wife, the former Cynthia Button, is a native of Schenectady, and her mother, Mrs. Scott Button, live at 111 1/2 Union street.
Robinson, a former manager of systems engineering for GE's special defense projects department in Schenectady, will present a paper before the first International Congress on Rockets and Guided Missiles from Dec. 3 to 8 in Paris.

Cynthia Button Robinson, 69, a homemaker and former editor at a New York publishing house, died Thursday at a nursing home in Philadelphia where she lived for the last four months. She was a former resident of Haverford and Media.
Mrs. Robinson was a book editor for MacMillan Publishers in New York for several years until she married Arthur Wirt Robinson Jr. in 1950. He died in 1981.
She was born and raised in Schenectady, N.Y. She and her husband moved to the area in 1964 and resided here until 1971. They then moved to Riverside, N.Y., and she returned to Schenectady in 1983.
Locally, she was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr and during the 1960s was a volunteer tutor for the Philadelphia Board of Education at inner-city schools.
She also was a tutor for an adult literacy program in Schenectady and was an editor for an oral history project at a public library in Greenwich, Conn.
Mrs. Robinson was an active member of the Smith College Club. She enjoyed reading, skiing and traveling.
She is survived by four children, Margaret Robinson Kilmartin, Mary Robinson Brogger, Arthur and Lolly Robinson, and a grandson.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. George's Episcopal Church in Schenectady. Burial will be private.
