SURPRISED THEIR FRIENDS

A quiet marriage which was a surprise to even the closest friends of the contracting parties took place Sunday evening, August 1st, at 6:30 p. m. at the Methodist parsonage, Rev. L. F. Shook officiating.

The bride and groom were Miss Kathleen C. Gray and Claud Gore Rogers.

"Gore" as he is familiarly called by his friends, is one of our splendid christian young gentlemen of fine ability and despite the fact that he has not yet reached his majority will, doubtless, succeed as a benedick as he has in his young manhood.

The bride, who is the daughter of our county clerk, Sidney T. Gray, has been reared in Marshall and is one of our superior and lovable young ladies, who will make a true and capable helpmeet for the groom.

Both are popular in our city and are received the congratulations of a wide circle of friends.

The bride wore a becoming suit of blue tricolette with hat to match, and those who witnessed the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Sidney T. Gray, parents of the bride and Mrs. Ed. Hawkins of Fairville, mother of the groom.

After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Rogers left on the Hummer for Detroit, Mich., which will be their home in the future, the groom having secured a position in that place.
