ELWOOD E. HEFFER
Elwood E. Heffer of Tigard died of cancer Monday in a Portland care center at the age of 70. At his request, no service will be held.
He was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Riga, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Heffer was a longtime resident of the Portland area. He had been employed as a milk deliveryman for Alpenrose Dairy from 1952 until 1959.
Mr. Heffer then worked as a sawyer for Air King for many years until 1982, when he went to work for Edwards Manufacturing Co. He retired in 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Annette L.; daughters, Rena Robbins of Sherwood and Muriel of Beaverton; son, Guy of Portland; mother, Rena Heffner of Rochester, N.Y.; sister, Betty Ochs of Phoenix, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Disposition was by cremation.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Visiting Nurse Association.
