Joan Wolfe

Joan Wolfe, age 76, of Richmond, Ind., died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Oak Ridge Rehab Facility following a short illness.

She was born July 5, 1928, in Greenfield, Ind., to Orville W. Sheffer and Lotha E. Wolfal Sheffer and had been a resident of Richmond most of her life.

Mrs. Wolfe was a graduate of Richmond High School and was a former employee of Richmond Home Telephone. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Ohio. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Robert F. Wolfe, to whom she was married Sept. 19, 1946; two daughters, Robin Fields and her husband John of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Barbara Baumer and her husband Mark of Richmond; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Sheffer of Centerville; one sister, Frances Sanford of Elburn, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Riegle; one great-granddaughter, Carie Marie Brant; and one brother, Gene Sheffer.

Funeral service for Joan Wolfe will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, Ind. Rev. John Hollis of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
