CASPER — Memorial services for Casper resident Wilson T. Smith, 77, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville. Military rites will be accorded by the United Veterans Council. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith died June 17, 1995, at his home in Casper. He was born June 18, 1917, in Casper, the son of Guy O. and Alta E. (Guy) Smith. He was born and raised in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1935. He spent his entire life in Casper, with the exception of the time he spent in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he served with the 7th division in the Pacific Theatre.
On June 4, 1955, he married Frances M. Milender in Casper.
Mr. Smith was a retired serviceman for Northern Utilities. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was also a musician, playing guitar and organ.
Mr. Smith was a past member of the VFW and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Frances M. Smith of Casper; and two sons, Casey Smith and Kelly P. Smith, both of Casper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Casper Humane Society or to the Disabled Veterans would by appreciated by the family and may be sent to Memorial Chapel, 710 E. 2nd St., Casper.
