DEATH TAKES KINDLY SOUL TO FINAL REWARD

Mrs. Jane Stambaugh Dies Sunday Morning at Her Home North of Gettysburg—Had Given Homes to Three Orphan Children, Raising Them as Her Own—Funeral Tuesday at Oakland Church

Mrs. Jane Stambaugh, 67, wife of Ed Stambaugh, died Sunday morning at two o'clock, at her home two miles north of Gettysburg, her death being due to a complication of diseases.

With the passing of this good lady went one of the most charitable and kindly souls in the community. Besides rearing a family of her own, Mrs. Stambaugh had taken three orphan children and raised them to become honored citizens. She was well beloved by all who knew her and her passing is the cause of sincere mourning among a long concourse of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by her husband, two daughters and two of the orphans that she raised. She is also survived by four brothers, Dr. Bixler, of Gettysburg, and Thomas, Charles, and David Bixler, all residing on farms near Bradford.

Funeral services at the Oakland church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. Revs. Flory and Galen Royer, officiating. Burial in the Harris Creek cemetery.

GETTYSBURG.—Edward Stambaugh, 81, a retired farmer, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Wayne hospital, Greenville, after a long illness. He resided two miles north of here with a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lizzie Bigler. Surviving also are a sister, Mrs. Ida Finfrock of New Madison, and two foster daughters.

Services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday in the Miller funeral home, with the Rev. Moyne Landis officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p. m. Sunday.
