TREATY MAN KILLED IN SUNDAY STORM

Wabash, July 19.—Jacob Alexander, seventy, was instantly killed at his home near Treaty, Ind., Sunday afternoon during an electrical storm which swept over the southern part of Wabash county. He had been picnicking when the storm came up and he stopped under a tree to get out of the rain when lightning struck him. A son discovered the body after his father failed to return for the evening meal.

Wittum Services Set For Friday Morning

Mrs. Clara Belle Wittum, 76, died at 12:45 a. m. Wednesday at her home at 1735 South St. Francis. Born in Wabash, Ind., Oct. 14, 1871, she came to Wichita four years ago.

Mrs. Wittum is survived by her husband, Miles L. Wittum; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Chamness, Warsaw, Ind.; and five sons, George Wittum, Illinois; Orville Alexander, Huntington, Ind.; Theodore Alexander, Utica, Mich.; Ernest Alexander and Eli Alexander, Wabash, Ill.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of the Culbertson mortuary at 10 a. m. Friday. Rev. E. M. Smith will officiate. Interment will be at Warsaw, Ind.

Miles L. Wittum

Miles L. Wittum, aged 90, retired Wichita photographer, died Tuesday night of a heart attack at his home, 1649 South Glenn, the Sedgwick county coroner's office reported Wednesday morning.

Wittum is survived by two sons, Herbert Wittum of the home and Ralph Wittum, 2004 South Glenn, and five grandchildren. Culbertson mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
